Innovative Method of Salt Production
  At present, the method of salt production by underground ultra-saline water is widely introduced in many countries for its great economic profitability.
  The Democratic People's Republic of Korea also attaches importance to the salt production by underground ultra-saline water.
  The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un paid deep attention to the salt production by underground ultra-saline water.
  One day, he visited a salt works.




  That day, he compared the method of salt production by underground ultra-saline water with the previous one by seawater and highly appreciated that the new method is an innovative method to put the salt production on an intensive footing.
  Taking up salt produced by underground ultra-saline water and tasting it several times, he said with great satisfaction that it did not taste bitter, but sweet and mild.
  Official Pak Hyon Chol at the Salt Industry Bureau said Comrade Kim Jong Un specially emphasized the importance of salt production, and continued:
  "The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said the problem of shortage of salt of the country could not be solved if we depend only on the salt production by seawater and stressed the need to actively introduce the method of salt production by underground ultra-saline water.
  He also said the production of salt by underground ultra-saline water is like digging out white gold and that the salt produced by underground ultra-saline water tastes good, and named it Undok Salt."
  The salt production by underground ultra-saline water was expanded and introduced into a number of salt works in the country and active efforts are made to find out promising underground ultra-saline water fields.
  As a result, epochal changes are being made in the field of salt industry, Pak Hyon Chol said and continued:
  "We should continue to put the salt production on a highly industrial and intensive basis as taught by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in order to fully and satisfactorily provide the salt badly needed for the economic development of the country and the people's living."
  Firm is the prospect of salt production in the DPRK with abundant underground ultra-saline water resources.
