A reception was given at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing on the 10th to mark the 65th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of
Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and China.
The party and government delegation of the DPRK, on an official visit to the People's Republic of China, was present at the reception.
Cai Qi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Member of the Secretariat and Director of the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, made a speech at the reception.
He said the China-DPRK friendship has advanced, consolidated and developed along with the era despite the trials of the changing international situation and stressed that Comrade General Secretary Xi Jinping and Comrade General SecretaryKim Jong Un are looking far ahead into the future and hewing it out and leading the China-DPRK friendship to enter the new historical period.
He expressed his readiness to carry forward the traditional friendship with the important common understanding between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries as a fundamental and strategic guideline and promote the work to put the socialist cause and traditional friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries at the constantly new stage.
Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, made a speech.
He said that in June last, ComradeKim Jong Un and Comrade Xi Jinping discussed issues on strengthening strategic coordination and cooperation between the two parties and two countries of the DPRK and China, firmly protecting the sovereignty, security and development interests of both countries and defending peace and development of the region and the rest of the world together before reaching a consensus of views during the historic meeting in Pyongyang.
He expressed a will to make efforts to write a new chapter of development of the DPRK-China relations by further expanding and developing exchanges and cooperation in all fields including politics, the economy and culture in accordance with the noble intention of the summits of the two parties and two countries.
Before the reception, Pak Thae Song met Cai Qi and conversed with him.
