President of State Affairs Kim Jong Un receives greetings from Vietnamese President
  Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, received a message of greetings from Luong Cong, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on January 22.
  In the message the Vietnamese president extended the warmest congratulations, on behalf of the state and people of Vietnam and on his own behalf, to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and, through him, to the state and people of the DPRK on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the DPRK.
  The message said the two countries have traditional relations of friendship, and continued:
  The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea became one of the three countries that established diplomatic relations with the then Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam today, on January 31, 1950, 75 years ago.
  Over the past 75 years the traditional relations of friendship cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung and the leaders of several generations and peoples of the two countries with much effort have steadily developed in conformity with the desire of the peoples of the two countries and in favor of peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the rest of the world.
  The Vietnamese party, state and people always attach importance to the cooperative relations with the DPRK and hope that these relations will accelerate more powerful and substantial development in many fields in conformity with the desire of the peoples of the two countries and commitment of each country to the international community and peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the rest of the world.
  I am pleased to declare with you the start of the "year 2025 of friendship between Vietnam and the DPRK".
  On this basis, all ministries and related sectors of the two countries will launch and accelerate various significant activities to mark and celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
  I will make joint efforts with you to maintain regular exchange of views in the future and contribute to the development of the Vietnam-DPRK relations and I hope that the efforts will bring substantial interests to the states and peoples of the two countries, and I am ready to do so.
  Availing myself of this opportunity, I wish you good health and hope that the DPRK will develop and be prosperous with each passing day under your leadership.
  I hope that the traditional relations of friendship between Vietnam and the DPRK would continue to grow stronger, the message added.
