Twelfth Session of 14th SPA of DPRK held
  The Twelfth Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was held at the Mansudae Assembly Hall in Pyongyang on January 22 and 23.
  Present at the session were deputies to the SPA and officials concerned of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Standing Committee of the SPA, the Cabinet, ministries, national agencies and armed forces organs and those from provinces as observers.
  The rostrum was taken by Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the SPA of the DPRK, and other senior officials of the Party, the government and the military, members of the State Affairs Commission and the Vice-Chairperson, the Secretary General and members of the Standing Committee of the SPA.
  The chair was taken by the chairman and vice-chairpersons of the SPA of the DPRK.
  Pak In Chol, Chairman of the SPA, made an opening address.
  When the session was declared open, the national anthem of the DPRK was played.
  The Twelfth Session of the 14th SPA of the DPRK brought up the following agenda items for discussion:
  First, On the Results of the Work of the Cabinet of the DPRK in 2024 and Its Tasks for 2025
  Second, On the Results of the Implementation of the State Budget of the DPRK for 2024 and Its State Budget for 2025
  Third, On Deliberating and Adopting the DPRK Law on Building-Materials Industry
  Fourth, On Deliberating and Adopting the DPRK Law on Shallow-Sea Culture
  Fifth, On the Results of the Work of the Central Court of the DPRK in 2024
  Sixth, On Revising Some Provisions of the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK
  Seventh, Organizational Issue
  Before discussing the agenda items, the session informed the participants of the leading officials of government organs appointed at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.
  Pak Thae Song, Premier of the Cabinet of the DPRK, on behalf of the members of the Cabinet, took an oath of pledging to remain loyal to the Constitution of the DPRK and live up to the expectations of the Party and people with his absolute devotion.
  Deputy Pak Thae Song made a report on the first agenda item, which was followed by speeches.
  Many deputies presented constructive opinions related to the work of the Cabinet.
  Deputy Pak Thae Song made public draft measures to solve the issues.
  The session adopted the decision of the SPA of the DPRK "On Approving the Report on the Work of the Cabinet of the DPRK".
  Deputy Ri Myong Guk, Minister of Finance, made a report on the second agenda item.
  The session adopted the decision of the SPA of the DPRK "On Approving the Results of the Implementation of the State Budget of the DPRK for 2024" and the ordinance of the SPA of the DPRK "On the State Budget of the DPRK for 2025" with unanimous approval.
  Deputy Kang Yun Sok, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the SPA, made a report on the third and fourth agenda items.
  The Standing Committee of the SPA presented the draft laws of the DPRK on building-materials industry and on shallow-sea culture to the session of the SPA for deliberation according to Article 95 of the Socialist Constitution.
  The deputies who took the floor positively supported and approved them.
  The session adopted the ordinance of the SPA of the DPRK "On Adopting the DPRK Law on Building-Materials Industry" and "On Adopting the DPRK Law on Shallow-Sea Culture" with unanimous approval.
  The session discussed the results of the work of the Central Court in 2024 as the fifth agenda item.
  Deputy Choe Kun Yong, President of the Central Court, made a report and deputies put forth their opinions on the work of the Central Court. Deputy Choe Kun Yong made public draft measures based on those opinions.
  After deliberating the report on the work of the Central Court in 2024, the SPA recognized that it fulfilled its duty stipulated in the Constitution and adopted the decision of the SPA of the DPRK "On Approving the Report on the Work of the Central Court of the DPRK".
  The session discussed the sixth agenda item and adopted the ordinance of the SPA of the DPRK "On Revising Some Provisions of the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK" with unanimous approval as regards the renaming of the Central Court and the Central Public Prosecutors Office as the Supreme Court and the Supreme Public Prosecutors Office.
  The session discussed the organizational issue as the seventh agenda item.
