DPRK Premier makes field survey of agricultural sector in South Hwanghae Province
  Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the agricultural sector in South Hwanghae Province.
  He learned in detail about the performance of immediate farming processes at agricultural production units of different counties including Jaeryong, Sinchon, Pyoksong, Kangryong and Chongdan counties.
  He emphasized that all the officials should actively introduce advanced farming methods, give specific guidance to mapping out plans for the overall farming and carrying out assignments in every farming season in time and execute them unconditionally in order to make South Hwanghae Province, a granary of the country, play an important role in the national grain output.
  He underscored the need to take timely measures for supplying farming materials to the areas with unfavourable conditions for farming, organize in detail the work for coping with the disastrous abnormal climate in a far-sighted way and manure and cultivate wheat and barley as preceding crops according to their growth and thus reap a good harvest in the production of early crops.
  Looking round irrigation facilities in the province and the Paechon County Farm Machine Station, he stressed the need to put main efforts into maintaining and repairing drainage ways and waterway structures and ensuring normal operation of equipment including water pumps and decisively improve the quality of accessories needed for manufacturing and repairing all sorts of farm implements through active technical innovation campaign.
  Consultative meetings were held on the spot.
  Meanwhile, Premier Pak called at the new Wheat Processing Factory in Kangryong County to learn about its construction, operation of equipment and supply of raw materials and underlined the need to make full preparations for its inauguration.
