DPRK weightlifters prove successful at 2024 IWF World Championships
  Weightlifters from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, who are taking part in the 2024 International Weightlifting Federation World Championships, are setting new world records and winning gold medals in succession, demonstrating the honour of the country.
  Kim Il Gyong snatched 108 kilograms, jerked 141 kilograms (new world record) and lifted 249 kilograms (new world record) in total at the women's 59-kilogram category on the 9th and came first respectively in snatch, clean and jerk, and total, winning three gold medals.
  At present, she holds world records in snatch, clean and jerk, and total at the women's 59-kilogram category.
  Meanwhile, Ri Ryong Hyon snatched 152 kilograms, jerked 197 kilograms and 349 kilograms in total at the men's 73-kilogram category, thus finishing first respectively in clean and jerk, and total.
  DPRK players have so far bagged 17 gold medals since the start of the championships.
