To Build a Coastal Tourist Area of Korean Style

The Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area is on the Kalma peninsula of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un unfolded a grand plan to build a world-class cultural recreation resort in a scenic spot on the East Sea of Korea and guided the work to build all the structures perfectly in Korean style.
He visited the construction site of the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area in May 2018.
That day, he said that in order to build the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area into the wonderful area of Korean style one and only in the world it should be designed well and built qualitatively.
In August that year, he also said the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area should be built into a world-level maritime park representing the face of the country and so he examines designs on its construction several times.
When he called at the construction site again in October that year, he said the tourist area will be magnificent when the high-rise buildings are distributed along the coast while retaining the characteristics of the coastal area. Whatever we build should meet the socialist fashion, he said and called time and again for bringing about a new change in the architectural composition.
One day in April 2019, he visited the construction site again and said buildings in the coastal tourist area got considerably better than before. And he told the officials that it is important to retain our fashion and the formation of streets in the area is completely Korean style.
Afterwards, too, he kept giving meticulous guidance to the construction of the tourist area.
On June 24, 2025 an inaugural ceremony of the Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area was held with splendour.
Enjoying a bird’s-eye view of the coastal tourist town, Comrade Kim Jong Un said with great satisfaction that what he most wanted to do for the people and to which the Party devoted a great deal of effort for a long time with cherished desire were translated into a brilliant reality, and that our inexhaustible pioneering spirit was fully demonstrated once again through the gigantic construction project.

The Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area is a precious crystallization of the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un who energetically leads us to design and build everything in our way of creation.
