Memorial tablet unveiled at Russian embassy
  A ceremony was held at the embassy of the Russian Federation on the 30th to unveil the memorial tablet for Alexandr Matsegora, former Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
  Attending the ceremony was Jo Yong Won, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK.
  Also on hand were DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui and officials concerned, charge d'affaires ad interim Vladimir Topeha and other staff members of the Russian embassy, Russian guests, the bereaved family members of Alexandr Matsegora and members of the foreign diplomatic corps in the DPRK.
  Guards of honour of the Korean People's Army were standing before the memorial tablet.
  Speeches were made at the unveiling ceremony.
  Vladimir Topeha said Alexandr Matsegora had made a distinguished contribution to developing the friendly relations between Russia and the DPRK for tens of years and added that his life is a paragon of devoted service for the country.
  Choe Son Hui affirmed that the merits performed for the strengthening and development of the DPRK-Russia friendship by Alexandr Matsegora, a dear friend and genuine comrade-in-arms of the Korean people, a patriot who devotedly worked for the interests of his country and a son of the Russian people, will be kept in the memory of the peoples of the two countries forever.
  Alexandr Matsegora's son and daughter expressed heartfelt thanks to the Russian and Korean friends for showing their sincerity to the ceremony of unveiling the memorial tablet.
  The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Alexandr Matsegora.
  When the memorial tablet was unveiled, the national anthems of the Russian Federation and the DPRK were played.
  Seen on the memorial tablet embossed with a picture of Alexandr Matsegora and the Order of Bravery are Russian letters reading that he, a diplomat and recipient of the order, served the motherland there.
  The participants placed flowers at the memorial tablet.
  After the ceremony, Jo Yong Won met the bereaved family members to warmly console them and expressed the conviction that they would contribute to the development of the DPRK-Russia relations true to the will of their deceased father.
