Trees planted on Arbor Day










Trees were planted in different parts of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on the occasion of the Arbor Day.
Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, and officials of the Standing Committee of the SPA planted trees at the Songmun Revolutionary Site associated with the immortal exploits of the great leaderKim Il Sung .
Vice-Premier of the Cabinet Kim Jong Gwan, officials of the construction headquarters of 50,000 flats in Pyongyang Municipality and military and civilian builders also planted good species of trees in the Hwasong area.
Students of the Mangyongdae andKang Pan Sok revolutionary schools came to the Hwasong area to take part in tree planting.
Officials of the State Inspection Commission, the Ministry of Light Industry, the Korean Revolution Museum and other commissions, ministries and national agencies planted trees at the Grand Monument on Mansu Hill, the Central Botanical Garden, the Monument to Party Founding and other places.
Officials and working people in the city of Pyongyang planted over 1,500 trees in the special forest reserve of the Mangyongdae Revolutionary Site. And officials and working people in different places planted trees in their localities.
The Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection, the Kangwon Provincial Tree Nursery and other tree nurseries across the country produced and supplied saplings needed for tree planting.
