Our Headmistress
Regarding this appellation as the wealth of her life, Headmistress Ri Kyong Ae at the Ponghak Primary School in Phyongchon District is devoting all her conscience to educating the younger generations.

The Ponghak Primary School in Phyongchon District is well-known across the country not only for its good educational conditions and environment, but also for excellent qualifications of teachers and good scholarly performances of pupils.
Such success is unthinkable apart from the efforts of Headmistress Ri Kyong Ae.
Ri Kyong Ae graduated from the Pyongyang Teachers Training College at the age of 22 and has been working as a primary school teacher for nearly 30 years since her girlhood.
She said:
"Primary school teachers help the children have their first dreams of life along with their parents. Of course, we cannot watch our pupils growing up when they leave the primary school and enter schools of higher grade. But the beautiful dreams of our children are brought into reality and firm educational foundations for bringing them up as good talents are provided by our primary school teachers, I think."
It is the noble view of life of Headmistress Ri Kyong Ae to become a true teacher fostering the beautiful dreams of children and give them wings of knowledge with her pure conscience.
While working as the headmistress for more than 10 years after her 15-year-long career as a teacher and the head of a section, she worked harder than anybody else to find ways to make her school the model of the country and put them into practice.

While working as the headmistress for more than 10 years after her 15-year-long career as a teacher and the head of a section, she worked harder than anybody else to find ways to make her school the model of the country and put them into practice.
She proposed a new way of improving the teaching work administration. Unlike the former method that one teacher had to teach several subjects, she saw to it that every subject for the pupils in the 4th and 5th grades is taught by different teachers.
She has organized hundreds of times of discussions on teaching materials, model lessons and inspections of class at work over the past three years. As a result, hundreds of model teaching plans for all subjects were completed and the ability of the pupils in the classes which adopted the new teaching method improved remarkably.
Not resting on her laurels, Headmistress Ri Kyong Ae made continuous efforts to attain a new goal.
In those days, more than 400 new teaching method registration certificates and experimental apparatus and teaching aids invention certificates were awarded to her school teachers and over 40 teachers became the October 8 exemplary teachers.
Headmistress Ri Kyong Ae continues her speculation to create newer teaching methods suited to the ages and psychological characteristics of the primary school pupils.
The state awarded the title of Merited Teacher and Meritorious Person of Socialist Patriotism to Headmistress Ri Kyong Ae who has devoted her pure conscience and sincere efforts to the education of the younger generations for nearly 30 years.
Headmistress Ri Kyong Ae is working hard as an educator with her pure conscience and devotion. That's why her school teachers and parents of the pupils respect her, calling her "our headmistress".
