President of State Affairs Kim Jong Un inspects typhoon-affected area of Ogye-ri, Anbyon County of Kangwon Province
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, looked round the typhoon-affected area of Ogye-ri, Anbyon County of Kangwon Province to guide its damage rehabilitation.
On the spot he received the report of damage by typhoon from Kim Tok Hun, Jo Yong Won, Pak Jong Chon, Ri Chol Man and Ju Chol Gyu.
Recently, river embankment has collapsed and more than 200 hectares of farmland been inundated in some regions of Kangwon Province due to the downpour and tidal waves by Typhoon No. 6.
Immediately after the occurrence of the damage by typhoon, Kim Jong Un saw that the senior officials of the Party and the government went to the spot to grasp the situation in detail and push ahead with the rehabilitation and took measures to urgently send necessary forces to the stationary units in Kangwon Province so as to launch a campaign for healing the damage by typhoon as early as possible.
He highly appreciated the People's Army units which have rapidly got to the work for rehabilitating the damage of inundated farmland and are displaying their militant might, and said:
The army should be able to actively cope with any sudden nonmilitary task including the rehabilitation of disasters as well as in the war and carry it out perfectly. It is a duty and absolute mission of our army to defend the lives of the people at any cost even in any crisis.
The aftermath of the damage can be held in check as the inundated farmland has been rehabilitated in a short span of time, he said and instructed on taking necessary measures of agricultural techniques to protect the crops as much as possible and take care of their nutrition lest it should have effect on the grain output.
Kim Jong Un pointed out: More than 200 hectares of farmland has been inundated in Ogye-ri of Anbyon County entirely due to the seriously chronic and irresponsible work attitude of the agricultural guidance organs and Party organizations in the area. The whole Party has strongly demanded all the sectors and units make the possible natural disasters every year a fait accompli and take decisive measures to prevent damages and strengthen the capacity of coping with the crisis, and continued to assign relevant instructions. But the local officials have been dull to the state measures and they have not taken any step. As a result, the locality has suffered a lot of damage as compared with other regions. It is necessary to give warning to the work system of the state for having the ability to prevent natural disasters once again on this occasion.
All the regions and units must quickly find out dangerous spots and take measures to prevent any damage in advance, he stressed.
