Present at the ceremony were Choe Ryong Hae, Jo Yong Won, Kim Tok Hun, Pak Jong Chon and Ri Pyong Chol, Members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee, members of the Central Military Commission of the Party, leading personnel of the Ministry of National Defence and other members of the State Funeral Commission and the bereaved family of the deceased.
A flag was hanging at half-mast at the April 25 House of Culture where the bier of the deceased was laid in state.
In the venue of the funeral ceremony there were colours of the three services of the KPA and guards of honour were standing at the bier of the deceased.
There was a ceremony of carrying the bier of the late Hyon Chol Hae out of the house.

The members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, together with him, carried the coffin of the late Hyon Chol Hae on their shoulders.
Lining up at the plaza of the April 25 House of Culture were service personnel of the KPA at the time of sorrow of bidding farewell to the late Hyon Chol Hae.
Representing the respects of the entire service personnel of the KPA, the guards of honour solemnly covered the bier of the late Hyon Chol Hae with the sacred and glorious flag of the DPRK.
The hearse, escorted by motorcycles, came out into the street past the column of colours of the KPA making a noble salute to the late Hyon Chol Hae.
A lot of service personnel of the KPA and capital citizens lining both sides of the street saw off the hearse with the sorrow of bidding their last farewell to the late Hyon Chol Hae, a genuine soldier who supported the Party and the leader with a single heart like the unchangeable rifle of the revolution all his life and a paragon of patriots who devoted his all to the country and people.
