By Applying Superb Tactics
In the last century, the Korean people waged the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle for 20 years under the difficult conditions without any state backing and assistance of a regular army.
They had to fight the one million-strong army of the Japanese imperialists armed to the teeth, which called itself the "leader" of Asia.
The Japanese imperialists looked down upon the Korean People's Revolutionary Army as "a drop in the ocean".
But they suffered wholesale deaths in the battles by the superb guerrilla tactics created by the great leader Kim Il Sung.

In those days the enemy most feared the "net tactics" which is the name they gave to the ambush, one of the guerrilla tactics of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army.
The battle at Laoheishan recorded as a typical one in the history of the anti-Japanese armed struggle was also a battle in which the enemy were annihilated in ambush.
In mid-June Juche 24(1935), Kim Il Sung made up his mind to destroy a unit of the Jingan army stationing in Laoheishan.
The arms of the Jingan army were better than those of other units of the Manchukuo army and it was under the command of a Japanese instructor.
Kim Il Sung saw that allurement and ambush were combined in the battle.
According to his order, more than 10 soldiers disguised as mountain rebels were dispatched as a decoying group.
Lured by the decoying group, the Jingan army unit came deep into the area where the soldiers of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army were lying in ambush.
Kim Il Sung shot at the Japanese instructor, signalling the start of battle. The enemy did not put up any resistance worth mentioning before being subdued. The Jingan Army much vaunted by the Japanese imperialists as a "steel-strong army" that could stand shoulder to shoulder with the "invincible imperial army" was destroyed in the battle within a few minutes.
Looking back upon the history of the hard-fought anti-Japanese war, Kim Il Sung said the whole course of the battle at Laoheishan proved that allurement and ambush was one of the most efficient battle forms and conformed with the characteristics of guerrilla warfare.
He created many other superb tactics including the one of escaping from siege by stealth to make the enemy fight among themselves, the one of making a sound in the east and attacking the enemy in the west and the one of rapid manoeuvre in which a large unit moved at midday. Those guerrilla tactics cannot be found in any military manuals.
Kim Il Sung correctly calculated the balance of forces between friend and foe, topography and weather conditions according to the changing reality before applying diverse tactics in the battles against the enemy every time, creating new legends.
He was an outstanding military strategist who frustrated the regular warfare of the aggressor army with guerrilla warfare for the first time in history.
