Finding Himself among People All His Life
Believing in the people as in heaven was a cherished opinion and motto of the great leader Kim Il Sung in his lifetime.
Regarding the motto as his creed, Kim Il Sung always found himself among the people all his life, sharing weal and woe with them.
In the countryside he sat on a straw mat without ceremony to discuss farm work with peasants. At a fishing village he felt a net together with fishermen and at a coal mine, he inspired the colliers to increased production.

There is a large-scale reed producer called "Pidan Island" at the northwestern end of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. A story about Kim Il Sung can be heard there, who pushed his way through the raging waves and muddy road several times to solve the clothing issue of the people.
One day in August Juche 55(1966) witnessed rain and shower, strong wind and high waves from the morning. There was a weather forecast that the ships should be cautious of a sea wind on the sea.
Officials dissuaded him from going to the Pidan Island because of foul weather. Saying he must go to the island even in rain once he decided to go for the people, however, Kim Il Sung took the sea route with raging waves.
The officials hesitated to go as the roads were covered with mud and they couldn't move their steps properly. Kim Il Sung walked in the van, saying we are not here for form's sake.
He proposed having a consultative meeting on the spot, met officials to learn about the project and brightly illuminated the ways to promote it as soon as possible.
Thanks to his devoted efforts, the Pidan Island was turned into a raw material base for producing paper. Today, it has been changed into a Juche-based chemical fibre base under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
On June 28, Juche 107(2018), Kim Jong Un called at the Pidan Island and took all necessary measures, saying that increasing the reed production is an important work to further strengthen the independence of the chemical industry of the country.
His shoes and clothes were covered with mud as he pushed his way through muddy road. He was reminiscent of Kim Il Sung who continued to walk rugged paths for the people all his life so as to make them better-off.
Kim Il Sung called on people in this country throughout his life and his devotion has been kept in their minds along with the devoted service of Kim Jong Un for the people's well-being.
