"Korean Dressing Custom" registered as world intangible cultural heritage
  The 19th Meeting of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Paraguay some time ago adopted with unanimous approval the decision of the organization on registering the "Korean Dressing Custom", an excellent cultural heritage of the Korean nation, as a typical intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
  The "Korean Dressing Custom" reflecting the emotion, feelings and life of the Korean people takes an outstanding position among the excellent cultural heritage created by the ancestors and the Korean costumes are widely known to the world for their unique styles and beauty.
  As a result, the folk song "Arirang", the kimchi-making custom, Ssirum (Korean wrestling), the custom of Pyongyang Cold Noodle and the "Korean Dressing Custom" were registered as typical intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
