National meeting for commemorating 80th founding anniversary of Kim Il Sung University held
A national meeting was held on September 30 to commemorate the 80th founding anniversary of Kim Il Sung University.
The rostrum was taken by Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Ju Chang Il and Kim Sung Du, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee, and other senior officials of the Party and government, officials and exemplary teachers and researchers ofKim Il Sung University and meritorious officials who graduated from the university.
Present at the meeting were teaching staff, students and graduates ofKim Il Sung University, leading officials of the national-level universities and relevant units in Pyongyang and officials and working people who actively supported the university.
Also on hand were foreigners and overseas Koreans who took part in the international scientific symposium for marking the 80th founding anniversary ofKim Il Sung University, members of the foreign diplomatic missions in the DPRK and foreign students studying at the university.
The national anthem of the DPRK was solemnly played.
President Kim Sung Chan made a report to the national meeting for commemorating the 80th founding anniversary ofKim Il Sung University.
He dwelt upon the proud course of the university which was founded thanks to the foresight of the outstanding leader and his firm faith to achieve prosperity by dint of self-reliance and made a dynamic development for 80 years.
He stressed that the history of the university is the brilliant history of the Juche-oriented ideas and theories of the great WPK on education and its outstanding leadership and the glorious history written by ardent patriotism and loyalty of the entire teaching staff, students and graduates who have devoted themselves to the victorious advance of the revolutionary cause and prosperity of the country with infinite loyalty to the Party.
He went on to say.
As a great programme of attaching importance to education and talents was provided under the leadership of the respected ComradeKim Jong Un , new changes were made in the educational and scientific work of Kim Il Sung University and the honour of the university was more fully demonstrated in the new era of the Juche revolution.
Kim Il Sung University should always play a vanguard role true to the Party's noble intention to make ours the best education that everyone is
envious of and wants to get, the world-class education that dynamically leads
the effort for achieving the prosperity of the country.
