80th anniversary of State Hydro-Meteorological Administration marked
Present there were Kim Sung Du, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Sung Guk, Vice-Premier of the Cabinet, officials concerned, and officials and employees of the administration.
Kim Sung Du conveyed a congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the WPK to the scientists, technicians and officials of the administration.
The message said the Central Meteorological Observatory established in the days of nation building has contributed to victory of the war through its responsible weather forecast activities amidst the gunfire of hard-fought war since it aired the historic first weather forecast on Radio Pyongyang. The proud 80-year-long history up to date since those days is shining all the more with the innovative successes in our era when the new turning point has opened in socialist construction, the message stressed.
Kim Jae Hyok, Director of the State Hydro-Meteorological Administration, made a report, which was followed by speeches.
