DPRK Premier makes field survey of different sectors of national economy

Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different sectors of the national economy.
He visited farms in Sinchon, Thaethan, Ongjin and Kangryong counties of South Hwanghae Province and learned about the immediate farming while encouraging the officials and agricultural workers.
He stressed the need to set the right time for harvesting properly on the basis of detailed calculation of the ripening rate of wheat and barley as earlier crops, weather conditions and the like and raise the operating rate of farm machines to reap the crops without waste in time.
He also underscored the need to manure and cultivate the rice and maize in a scientific and technological way in accordance with their growth, make foresighted preparations for coping with the disastrous abnormal climate, actively introduce advanced farming methods whose superiority was confirmed in reality and organize and conduct dynamic work for generalizing the experience of advanced units to increase the number of high-yielding farms, workteams and sub-workteams.
Acquainting himself with the actual conditions of the February 8 Jiktong Youth Coal Mine under the Sunchon Area Youth Coal-Mining Complex, he underlined the need to effect innovations in the coal production by further raising the level of mechanization in the face work. At the Sunchon Coal-Mining Machine Factory he touched on promoting its remodelling in a planned way.
He also emphasized that the units producing materials for the colliers in the Sunchon area should increase the variety of supplies and the amount of supply.
The consultative meetings held on the spot discussed issues concerned before taking necessary measures.
Earlier, Premier Pak called at the Phyongsong Wheat-Processing Factory under construction and stressed the need to rationally distribute the production processes and modernize the equipment on a highly qualitative level to enhance the wheat-processing capacity. And at the Phyongsong Irrigation Machine Factory he underscored the need to direct big efforts to reducing the production costs.
