DPRK Premier makes field survey of different sectors

Pak Thae Song, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different sectors.
He visited the Sunchon Cement Complex and said it should attain the production goal set forth by the Party this year without fail by giving definite precedence to the ideological and political work to follow the fighting spirit and manner of the workers of the Sangwon Cement Complex, steadily increasing the operation rate of equipment and conducting the mass technical innovation movement.
Looking round farms in Suan, Singye and Sohung counties, he learned about the growth of preceding crops and the preparations for immediate farming and stressed the need to minimize the damage from drought.
He noted that the agricultural production units should actively introduce advanced farming methods and continuously increase the area of double-cropping with the main emphasis on cultivating cereal crops as the first and second crops and that the officials in the field of agriculture should steadily intensify the technical guidance over farming.
At the Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans and the Educational Books Printing Factory, he emphasized again the importance of the improvement of the teachers' qualifications and the supply of educational books in implementing the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme and called for constantly studying and applying superior teaching methods to train the orphans as talented personnel possessed of practical abilities and effecting innovations in the production of textbooks.
The consultative meetings held on the spots discussed relevant issues.
Meanwhile, Premier Pak looked round the Hard Alloy Raw Materials Manufactory under the Pyongyang Coated Tools Development Company to acquaint himself with the problems arising in the production and take relevant measures.
