Hopeful New Year 2026 celebrated in DPRK









All people in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea significantly celebrated the hopeful New Year 2026.
People visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where the great leadersKim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are laid in state on the morning of the New Year's Day.
Officials, working people, service personnel of the People's Army and school youth and children called at the bronze statues and mosaic murals of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and in other places of the country, laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers and paid respects to them.
The children and primary school pupils across the country were provided with gifts associated with the love of the Workers' Party of Korea on the occasion of the New Year.
A circus performance was given by acrobats of the National Acrobatic Troupe at the Pyongyang Circus Theatre and the one-act drama "The Man I Want" was performed at the National Theatre.
Schoolchildren in the city of Pyongyang also gave a New Year performance, singing of their pleasure of having greeted the new year to be happier under the care of the great father.
Performances were also given in South Phyongan, North Hwanghae, North Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces and the city of Nampho.
Sports and amusement games took place at the South Hamgyong Provincial Sports Village and the Hamhung Stadium by officials, working people and youth and students in the province.
New Year performances of schoolchildren were given at different places including North Phyongan, South Hwanghae and Kangwon provinces and the city of Kaesong.
Working people, students and children enjoyed themselves at the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum, the Munsu Water Park and other cultural recreation resorts for the people.
That day, public service amenities across the country were crowded with people.
Gorgeous neon signs in all parts of the capital city including Hwasong and Jonwi streets wonderfully decorated the night of the new year.
