The expedition of the 1,000-ri Journey for National Liberation by
schoolchildren from across the country arrived in Phophyong on the 3rd.
Officials, working people and schoolchildren inKim Hyong Jik County welcomed the marchers who were coming with fluttering flag of the expedition to the significant place where the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung crossed the Amnok River with a firm resolve not to return before Korea had become independent.
A meeting was held in the education yard before the bronze statue of GeneralissimoKim Il Sung in the Phophyong Revolutionary Site.
Present at the meeting were Kim Jong Sun, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the youth league and members of the expedition.
The members of the expedition laid a floral basket and bouquets before the bronze statue of GeneralissimoKim Il Sung and paid tribute to him.
