Universities conduct scientific research activities in different sectors of national economy
  Universities in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are dynamically conducting scientific research activities in different sectors of the national economy.
  Researchers of different universities including Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology are conducting scientific research activities in the fields of metallurgical, chemical, power, machine-building and coal-mining industries.
  The Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering sent researchers to machine factories in a number of regions to make scientific researches for modernization and remodelling of technical processes.
  Researchers of the Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry are putting efforts into solving research projects for improving the quality of products, remodelling the technical processes and normalizing the production at the Sinpho City Offshore Farm and foodstuff factories in different regions.
  Those at the Phyongsong University of Coal Mining Industry are solving sci-tech problems arising in normalized coal production and deep exploration at coal mines in the Sunchon, Kaechon and Tukjang areas. Researchers of the Hamhung University of Chemical Industry are conducting scientific research activities at major chemical industry bases in Hungnam, Sunchon and other places to establish C1 chemical industry and normalize the fertilizer production.
  Researchers of universities of agriculture across the country have been involved in the groups for promoting scientific farming. Many researchers of major universities and province-level universities are making researches to achieve sci-tech successes which can be conducive to implementing the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy".
