Mother's Day celebrated
  Mother's Day was celebrated significantly across the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
  The visitors to the park at the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are laid in state, paid tribute to them, warmly recalling their immortal revolutionary exploits.
  Lots of people laid bouquets and flowers before the bronze statues and mosaic murals of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and different other parts of the country and made a bow to them.
  Officials of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women's Union of Korea and women's union officials across the country visited the baby homes and orphanages. They called on those who gave birth to many children to congratulate them.
  A song and dance ensemble was given by the Mansudae Art Troupe at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre and colourful performances in the capital city and provinces, adding to the festive mood.
  Souvenir shops and flower shops and kiosks throughout the country were crowded with people buying bouquets and flowers for their mothers who devote themselves for the society, collective and family.
  Public catering establishments including the Okryu Restaurant and the Phyongnam Noodle House rendered peculiar services to mothers and the bases for cultural and leisure activities were also full of people enjoying the Mother's Day.
