First Gold Medal

The 11-year-old Kim Phyong Gyong won a gold medal at her first international game. She took the first place at the A1 girl individual of the 7th Senior and Junior Trampoline Asian Championships and the 2nd Asian Trampoline Age Group Competition.
She was born in Tongnim County of North Phyongan Province. She started her career as a player of the Hwalyok Team under the Ministry of Machine-Building Industry toward October two years ago.
She distinguished herself at a national game in less than one year and participated in the Trampoline Asian Championships this year.
According to her parents, she enjoyed hoop turning very much. They said all children in the village followed her when seeing her turn the hoop. But they regarded it as a trick of their little child.
Saying their daughter learned trampoline at a team in Pyongyang and won a gold medal, they expressed thanks to the social system that developed her talents and to the coach for her great efforts.

Coach Ryu Mi Gyong at the Hwalyok Team under the Ministry of Machine-Building Industry trained the 11-year-old gold medalist.
She would lift Phyong Gyong smaller than apparatus in her arms.
She had a lot of troubles when Phyong Gyong failed to perform difficult technical movements and ensure the time of flying just as she intended.
She tried to find a scientific training method suited to the girl's character and physical condition and was concerned about her study and life.
For the girl, she was a tenderhearted sister and attentive mother before a strict coach.
Thanks to her efforts, the girl could consolidate the basic technique of trampoline in a short period and fully prepare herself physically and technically.
Coach Ryu Mi Gyong said Phyong Gyong played good preliminaries and perfectly performed difficult technical movements in the finals as well, and continued:
"Phyong Gyong is physically prepared. Especially her speed strength has been developed and flexible and has good motor sensation. So she could prove successful at an international game in one year and eight months after she began to learn trampoline.
She took the first place and got 10 points more than the runner-up.
Trampoline decides a match by the point of 0.01. But the overwhelming difference of nearly 10 points shows that the ability of Phyong Gyong is high."
Kim Phyong Gyong is 11 years old now, which is the age of making up to her parents. But she won the gold medal at the international game. It was her first gold medal to the motherland.

Kim Phyong Gyong said: "I will train harder to keep winning only gold medals in the future."
She is training harder and harder to realize her dream.
