Proud Children of Kindergarten
"I can make everything with coloured paper."
"I can read all the musical scores."
This is what was said proudly by children of the Ryomyong Kindergarten in Taesong District in the centre of Pyongyang.
The kindergarten has created and introduced educational methods and means suited to the minds of children to train a lot of talents.
Six-year-old Pak Ung Hui is called a genius in paduk.

Teacher Kim Su Ryon said she had found that Pak Ung Hui has an unusual memory while teaching her how to play the piano, and continued:
"It is about two years after she began to learn paduk. When she entered the kindergarten, her mother requested me to teach her how to play the piano. I thought that Pak Ung Hui would play the piano well as she was unusually pretty and outgoing. Teaching her sight reading and hearing, I found that she has an outstanding memory unlike other children. So, I started to teach her paduk and she learned it faster than other children of the same age."
This is how Pak Ung Hui began to learn paduk. She acquired various moves one by one together with her teacher and as a result, her skills got better enough to compete with primary school children.
At last, she came first in the paduk contest of educational institutions and the national paduk contest of children in succession last year which was less than one year after she began to learn paduk.

This year, she took the first place again in the Pyongyang Paduk Open and came to be called a genius in paduk. She said:
"People call me a paduk girl. I will study paduk harder in the future, giving greater pleasure to my mum and teacher."
The kindergarten is operating different extracurricular groups including calligraphy and piano groups as well as paduk group.
In the course, Paek Tu Il, Kim Jun Myong and Ryang Jin Song with unusual instinct for handwriting by a brush were awarded medals and diplomas at the National Calligraphic Festival held in April this year.
