Everlasting Friendly and Cooperative Relations
  The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, paid an official goodwill visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam on March 1 and 2, 2019.







  His official goodwill visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam served as a historic occasion that invariably defended the history and tradition of friendship between the two countries and further developed the bilateral relations in keeping with the demand of the new era.
  During the visit, Kim Jong Un met with the party and state leaders of Viet Nam and laid a solid foundation for carrying forward the tradition of friendship between the DPRK and Viet Nam provided by the preceding leaders of the two countries generation after generation despite the complicated international situation.
  Thanks to his official goodwill visit to Viet Nam, the will and stand of the peoples of the two countries to push ahead with the historic cause for defending and accomplishing socialism were demonstrated all over the world, the unity and solidarity between the two countries tremendously strengthened and a new era opened to further expand and strengthen the overall bilateral relations by revitalizing the wide-ranging exchanges and cooperation.
  Over the past six years strategic understanding between both sides has been unprecedentedly strengthened and the friendship between the two peoples deepened day by day. The two countries have extensively developed their bilateral relations in different fields including politics, the economy and culture while strengthening mutual support and cooperation in the common interests.
  It is a common desire and will of the two peoples to consolidate and develop the relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Viet Nam century after century.
  It is a firm stand of the DPRK government to further expand and develop the friendly and cooperative relations with Viet Nam with a 75-year-long history in the common interests of socialism and the two peoples this year, a "Year of Friendship".
  In the message of greetings he sent to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam in January this year, Kim Jong Un expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Viet Nam with a long history and tradition would be strengthened and developed and thus powerfully encourage and propel the cause of socialist construction in the two countries and the struggle of the world people aspiring to independence and justice. 
  The friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and Viet Nam, the common wealth of the two peoples, will be constantly developed in the future, too.
