Good Dress Designers
Dress designers can be called creators of fashion. They produce ideal dress designs in good harmony with all elements including colours, materials, design and processing.
Dress designers of the Garment Research Institute of the Academy of Food and Consumer Goods Science under the Ministry of Local Industry, a centre of garment research in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, are working heart and soul to present dress designs with originality and clear individuality.
The dress designs they made are different according to sexes, ages and occupations of people and are specific to their likings, aesthetic tastes and figures.
The designers attach great importance to the research into colours.
The colour of a dress represents civilization and personality of the person wearing it. That's why people choose colours of their dresses according to time, place, seasonal characteristics and liking.
The designers make the best use of bright, dark and neutral tints to emphasize good points but cover weak points in skin colour and figure of the people.
Such dress designs of different kinds are serialized in the books "Women's Clothing Styles and Designs" and "Men's Clothing Styles and Designs" and disseminated throughout the country.

The garment exhibition which is held in the DPRK on a regular basis serves as an important occasion that enables the technicians and producers in the field of clothing to widen their view of garment design and further raise their level.
Here are women awarded the best prize at the "Garment Exhibition--2024".

She was awarded the best prize at the men's overcoat category.

There is a saying that clothes make the man. People's appearance and personality are enhanced by their costumes. In this aspect dress designers can be called gardeners making people beautiful.
They say in unison that they should present dress designs suited to every person.
Thanks to their efforts, our dress culture develops day by day and our streets become brighter.
