Totally Different Two Social Systems Seen through Housing Problem
House is a cradle dear to man. So it is said that the greatest of the sorrows is that of homeless person. The problem of houses indispensable for life gives a striking contrast between socialism and capitalism.
In August last year, the US newspaper "Wall Street Journal" carried an article about dreams of Americans to the following effect:
There are three things Americans desire even in dreams. They are to have their own houses and families and lead a stable life. But they are nothing but wild dreams. Few Americans believe that their dreams would come true easily....
Actually, the house price is so expensive in the United States that ordinary families cannot even think of "getting their own single-roomed houses".
In Japan, the average price of a flat of an apartment newly built in the metropolitan area increased 9.5 percent in 2023 as against the previous year, thus breaking the highest records consecutively for three years.
In the Netherlands, too, the price of houses continued to rise, establishing a "new record" last year. It is said that the tax of a flat was more than 1,700 US dollars on a monthly average in Sidney of Australia.
In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, however, the houses built at the state expense are provided to the working people free of charge.
The Workers' Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK regard it as the most important task to solve the housing problem of the people and are carrying it out without fail.
On March 23, 2021, the respected ComradeKim Jong Un said the large-scale operation of the Party and the state for housing construction is not the work for any economic profits but a noble undertaking, from A to Z, to make the wealth of the state and the outcome of creative labour of the working people contribute to their well-being.
The socialist system is, indeed, the eternal cradle of life of the working people.
