Songchon County in South Phyongan Province is a typical intermediate mountainous area in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The first ground-breaking ceremony for implementing the "Regional Development 20×10 Policy" was held here in the county.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un took part in the ground-breaking ceremony for construction of the regional-industry factories in Songchon County, made a significant speech and took the first shovel for construction in commemoration of the ground-breaking on February 28, 2024.
That day, he said it
is also a very pressing affair of the state to rebuild the regional
economy on a completely new and advanced basis throughout the country
and raise to a higher stage the basic material and cultural standards of
living of the regional people, who make up the overwhelming majority of
the population of the DPRK.
Later he guided on the spot the construction of different regional-industry factories on August 24 and 25. When he called at the construction sites of regional-industry factories in Songchon County again, he beamed all over his face, saying he feels as if it was only a few days ago when he pressed the detonator at a ground-breaking ceremony heralding the arrival of a new era of regional development, but factories have already taken shape.
When he visited the construction sites of regional-industry factories in Songchon County again on November 19, he said with satisfaction that the validity and prospect of the line and policy of our Party have been proved in practice.
It was a work he had long conceived and desired to provide more than 10 million people in all the cities and counties with substantial benefits in living.
In order to realize the long-cherished desire, Kim Jong Un named his plan "Regional Development 20×10 Policy", which is aimed at adopting the issue of renovating the regional-industry factories in all cities and counties across the country as an important state policy and powerfully pushing ahead with it, and visited the construction sites of the regional-industry factories in Songchon County three times a year.
