Two World Cups Won
The DPRK women's football teams were the focus of many football experts and fans of the world at the 2024 FIFA U-20 and U-17 Women's World Cups.
The U-20 and U-17 Women's World Cups are not merely the tournaments according to ages. They draw attention of the world football circles as they are important occasions in making an overall assessment of the women's football development and training of reserve footballers of countries concerned and predicting the prospect of their development.
This time the U-20 women's football team of the DPRK became one of the three thrice World Cup winners and the U-17 women's football team became the strongest one that won the World Cup thrice for the first time.
Many football experts and mass media of the world commented on the DPRK teams that defeated all the strong teams which were regarded as likely winners at the U-20 and U-17 Women's World Cups and completely overturned the ready-made ideas of the football fans on the "theory on superiority of Europe and America in the football circles". And they said those brilliant successes are attributable to the high physical and technical ability of the Korean players but, to be more exact, to their spirit of striving tenaciously for the motherland.
The successes made by the DPRK women footballers in 2024 clearly proved the power and aspect of women football of the DPRK rising up rapidly to the position of the strongest, firmly holding world supremacy and demonstrating the tremendous latent power and prospect of development.
Honour of Home of Taekwon-Do Demonstrated Again
Taekwon-Do players of the DPRK won 76 gold medals at the Tenth Asian Taekwon-Do Championship held in August, setting the highest record in the history of the championship. They also bagged a lot of medals at the Ninth International Martial Art Games held in November, demonstrating the honour of home of Taekwon-Do all over the world.
The Vice-President of the Asian Taekwon-Do Federation and other personages of different countries said those gold medals won by the DPRK players this time are the highest record in the history of the Asian championships and such noteworthy success served as an important occasion that powerfully showed the might of daily-developing Taekwon-Do of Korea once again.
The DPRK players also proved successful at the Ninth International Martial Art Games held in Tashkent of Uzbekistan.
The games were held after the lapse of five years owing to the spread of pandemic. They were in the limelight in the world martial art circles as they brought together specially many players.
14 men and women players of the DPRK bagged nearly 20 medals including 10 golds at the "Taekwon-Do World Cup--2024". The members of the International Martial Art Games Committee and the International Taekwon-Do Federation sent warm congratulations to the DPRK players on their successful matches and said: Though they took part in the matches in small number, they achieved high results. The technical level of every player is high. Every movement they performed is correct and attractive. The DPRK has the strong might of unity. They demonstrated teamwork as well as high techniques.
The Taekwon-Do players displayed amazing techniques at the matches with a sense of duty that the players from the home of Taekwon-Do should be the model of Taekwon-Do and the first place must be taken by Taekwon-Do of Korea on the world arena and with the unusual national pride of demonstrating and widely disseminating the orthodox martial art of Korea all over the world. They gave deep impressions to many Taekwon-Do experts and enthusiasts.
