She fully developed her talents and hope under the care of the Workers' Party of Korea. She became a player of a professional sports team in 2010.
She took part in a number of international games and fully demonstrated the honour of the motherland with the pride of being an athlete of Juche Korea.
She won gold medals in the 2014 Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships, the 29th Summer Universiad and the 18th Asian Games. She also proved successful in the world weightlifting championships held in 2015 and 2019, giving pleasure to the people across the country.
She won a gold medal in women's weightlifting of the 19th Asian Games and made a new world record, new Asian record and new Asian Games record. She also bagged a gold medal in the 2023 IWF Grand Prix.
