By Making an Effective Use of Marine Resources

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has the favourable natural and geographical features with long coastlines.
It is a firm stand of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government to improve the people's living standards by using such features.
On May 8, Juche 104(2015) the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un called at the Sinpho Distant-Sea Fishery Complex and said he would become an honorary manager and is going to improve the work of the complex.

That day, he said the task of the fishery sector is very important in the work for improving the people's diet and taught the tasks and ways to increase the fisheries output.
He stressed the need to push forward with the work for setting an example to be followed by all coastal cities and counties to promote their development in a peculiar way by making the most effective use of marine resources.
On July 15, Juche 113(2024), a consultative meeting related to the development of the regional economy was held under his guidance in the Phungo-dong area in the city of Sinpho of South Hamgyong Province.
The meeting discussed the issues arising in building the Sinpho City Offshore Farm into a new fine model for shallow-sea culture, generalizing it to bring about a substantial improvement in the economic development and the people’s living standards in coastal cities and counties, and more dynamically pushing forward with the Party's regional development policy.

The "National August 3 Consumer Goods Exhibition--2024" was held in the capital city of Pyongyang between August 4 and 10 and those goods produced in the city of Sinpho were popular among people.
Worker Kim Ryon Hwa at the Sinpho Fishery Station under the Sinpho Distant-Sea Fishery Complex says:
"We are producing a lot of processed marine products favoured by people in hearty response to the instructions of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un who has been concerned to provide the people with more fish.
We presented more than 10,000 processed marine products of over 20 kinds to the exhibition."
Worker Song Jong Hui at the Sinpho City Foodstuff Factory says:
"We presented 8,000 products of 12 kinds to the August 3 Consumer Goods Exhibition.
Popular among them are different kinds of pickled dishes such as salted pollack entrails, salted pollack, salted pollack roes and pickled anchovies."
Today, active efforts to make an effective use of the seas are made in the coastal cities and counties of the DPRK under the meticulous guidance of Kim Jong Un.
