Gap of Educational Level Narrowed
  Educational units in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are vigorously promoting the work to put the teaching contents and methods on a more specific, diverse and practical basis. Kangwon Province is striving to narrow the gap of educational level between the capital and the provinces and between the cities and the countryside, and to further raise the educational level of the universities.
  The provincial people's committee formed a powerful force consisting of teachers and researchers of universities under the central authority in contact with the Ministry of Education for intensive guidance to universities in the province including the Wonsan University of Agriculture. In particular, it organizes intensive practical training of the items of guidance to every section, swapping of experience and scientific exchanges.



 

  It also informs the university teachers, researchers, and postgraduate and undergraduate students of the world trend of educational development and demonstrates the achievements and experiences gained at a number of universities in a planned way.
  Om Chol Ryong, Senior Official of the Provincial People's Committee, says:
  "Widely disseminated to the universities in our province are the excellent successes and experiences of universities under the central authority in the methods for putting the teaching contents and methods on a more specific, diverse and practical basis and the methods for practical education, including the introduction of research-type teaching method into subjects related to majors.
  Besides, the successes and experiences achieved in training talents of machine design and polyglot students are fully exchanged. We are striving to make it a good opportunity of bringing the education of universities in our province close to that of those under the central authority."
  The province often organizes presentations of research-type teaching and studying methods created in the course of swapping the experiences of excellent teaching methods of universities under the central authority and scientific exchanges as well as contest of polyglot students.











  Through this, the education officials in the province are convinced once again of the significance of innovating the educational structures, contents and methods according to the developing reality.
