The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was presented with a wood sculpture "Elephant" as gift by Sisavath Khamsaly, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, on December 19, Juche 107(2018).
In Laos, elephant is said to have played a big role in the fight against foreign invaders in the past and been widely used as a means of transportation.
So, the Lao people regard elephant as an object of worship.
Seen on the back of the wooden elephant are the fittings made elaborately and delicately.
The gift is in an organic glass box, whose edges and stand were gilt.
The wood sculpture is 30 centimetres long and 20 centimetres high.
